Houston City Sheriff Adrian Garcia also had to fire another employee that he hired on his personnel staff because sexual harassment allegations had arose.

Houston Community College is investigating a former chairman of the board and at least one trustee for possible conflicts of interest with construction companies that got jobs in the district.
Yolanda Navarro Flores’ said she has issued a “response of denial” to the HCC administration, which asked about a potential conflict of interest involving a company run by her husband. The construction company was hired through competitive bidding for minor construction jobs.

in prison. Oliver Spellman, the one time Chief of Staff for former

city contracts. Spellman got probation and a $10,000 fine.

Who: HOUSTON — A Waller County justice of the peace will not face jail
time for taking part in a bribery scheme. DeWayne Charleston was
sentenced to five years probation Tuesday as part of a plea agreement.
What happened: Investigators said Charleston accepted a bribe in
exchange for helping a demolition contractor get a deal with the city
of Hempstead. Two Hempstead city councilmen are in prison for their
roles in the scandal.
